Haute Hotels for Westminster Show Dogs

Official host hotel for the Westminster Dog Show, the Hotel Pennsylvania has been known to, literally, lay out the red carpet for their-four legged guests. With a designated Doggie Concierge and a world-famous "S'Paw," pooches are pampered and promoted like the show dogs they are.

Some special amenities at the spa for privileged canines include special bathing tubs, dog-grooming areas, exercise spaces and doggie bathrooms.

Sawdust is refreshed every half hour in the 24-hour pee zone, and high-energy dogs can go for a lap on a pet-friendly treadmill. There is also a free shuttle from the hotel to Madison Square Garden, where the competition is held, and a live satellite feed of the show so no one will miss a minute of the action!

You might think the prices would be impawsible, but there are reduced room rates for Westminster Kennel Club members and discounted pet cleaning fees during the event. Dogs stay on their own designated floors away from other guests, which keeps the atmosphere as fun and lively as rush week.

A Hotel for Every Budget

For the dogcerning guest there's the New Yorker Hotel. A tad more upscale, they offer all the same dog-centric amenities, and if you're a Wyndam Hotel member, you'll even collect points.

Finally, the Stewart Hotel is a good option for the furry guest on a budget. For Westminster, the hotel features a rooftop dog park where the hounds can breathe in the fresh air—and do their business—away from the streets and any poochparazzi that might capture a contestant at an awkward moment.

When the Show's Over

FYI pet parents: with 75% of US hotels now accepting pets, you don't have to wait for the Westminster show—or journey to New York—to take your dog on the road. But if you'd like to check out the S'paw, book ahead!
