Dog: Pepper

The name Pepper is of English origin and is mostly used for female dogs.

Pepper connotes a mix of meanings: think of the spicy black pepper or the brilliantly colored vegetable, which comes in bright orange, red and yellow. Then there's the flavor: sweet, spicy and fiery! Finally, the name reflects an attitude—one that's bouncy and bright.

The name is well suited to breeds with lustrous black coats, like Scottish Terriers, Schipperkes and Labradors, and orange-colored breeds—Golden Retrievers, Pomeranians and apricot Poodles.

Pepper is also a good fit for females that love to play: think of Australian cattle dogs, Boxers and Siberian huskies.
