A Curious Habit

It seems rude to us, and even embarrassing, when one dog sniffs another you know where. Canines have glands called “anal sacs” that give off a lot of information in the form of smells. Dogs can identify gender, reproductive status, diet and even mood from this form of greeting. We parents will stick to shaking hands.
