  • Which Rachael Ray Nutrish® recipe should I choose if I'm switching my dog from another brand?

All Nutrish recipes are healthy, natural recipes with added vitamins & minerals, but depending on what you are currently feeding, some Nutrish formulas may be more agreeable with your dog.

If you are feeding a dry food such as Purina® Beneful®, Purina ONE®, Purina ONE® Smartblend® True Instinct, Purina Beyond®, Iams® Proactive Health, or Iams Naturals®, we'd recommend trying our Real Chicken & Veggies Recipe, Real Beef & Brown Rice Recipe, or Turkey, Brown Rice & Venison Recipe. (Note, our Turkey, Brown Rice & Venison Recipe should be used for adult dogs only.)

If you are currently feeding a grain free dry food such as BLUE Freedom®, Purina Beyond® Grain Free, Purina ONE® Smartblend® True Instinct Grain Free, Iams Naturals® Grain Free, Wellness® CORE®, Nutro® Max®, Merrick®, or BLUE Wilderness®, we'd recommend starting with our Nutrish Zero Grain formulas, like our Turkey & Potato Recipe, Beef, Potato & Bison Recipe or Salmon and Sweet Potato Recipe.

If your dog has food sensitivities, and is currently eating a limited ingredient dry food like BLUE Basics®, Nutro®, or Purina Beyond® Simply 9, we'd recommend feeding our Just 6 Lamb Meal & Brown Rice Recipe, which is a limited ingredient diet made with only six ingredients plus vitamins & minerals. (Note, Just 6 Recipe should be used for adult dogs only.)

If your dog is currently eating a food with whole ingredients, like Freshpet® Baked Recipes, Nutro® Farm's Harvest, Nature's Recipe®, Wellness TruFood®, or BLUE Buffalo® Life Protection Formula® with LifeSource Bits®, we'd recommend feeding DISH, which has whole ingredients you can actually see like real chicken, carrots, peas, apples and potatoes.

As with any transition, we recommend slowly mixing Nutrish® with your dog's other food over a five to ten day period until your dog is solely eating Rachael Ray Nutrish®. Once your dog is only eating Nutrish, keep in mind that feeding guidelines on the bag are a guide. Your dog's individual needs will vary based upon his size, his activity level and even his age. And overfeeding is a common source of digestive upset. Be sure to check your dog's weight and adjust feeding levels to maintain a healthy weight. And, don't forget to see your vet regularly.

If your dog is eating a wet dog food, like Purina® Beneful® Chopped Blends, Beneful® Incredibites®, Freshpet® Select, Freshpet® Nature's Fresh, Freshpet® Vital® or Purina® Beyond® Ground Entrées, then we'd recommend Nutrish Wet Food for Dogs in any flavor that your dog loves.

  • What Rachael Ray Nutrish® Cat recipe should I feed if I'm switching from another brand?

All RRN recipes are delicious, healthy recipes that provide complete and balance nutrition, but depending on what you are feeding, some Nutrish formulas will be easier to switch to.

If you are feeding dry foods such as Purina® Cat Chow®, Purina ONE®, Purina Beyond®, Iams®, BLUE Buffalo®, or Goodlife®, we'd recommend trying our Real Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe or Real Salmon & Brown Rice Recipe.

If you are currently feeding dry foods such as BLUE Freedom®, BLUE Wilderness®, Nutro®, or Purina Beyond® Grain Free, we'd recommend starting with our Nutrish Zero Grain formulas, like our Chicken & Potato Recipe or Whitefish & Potato Recipe.

As with any transition, we recommend slowly mixing Nutrish® with your cat's other food over a five to ten day period until your cat is solely eating Rachael Ray Nutrish®. Once your cat is only eating Nutrish, keep in mind that feeding guidelines on the bag are a guide. Your cat's individual needs will vary based upon size, activity level and age. Overfeeding is a common source of digestive upset. Be sure to check your cat's weight and adjust feeding levels to maintain a healthy weight. And, don't forget to see your vet regularly.

If you are currently feeding wet foods such as Purina Beyond®, Purina ONE®, Iams®, Fancy Feast®, or Sheba®, we'd recommend starting with one of our 8 delicious and wholesome wet cat food recipes – like Chicken Purrcata or Tuna Purrfection – or pick up our convenient Variety Packs to try them all.
